Spiral Staircases

Image
This website is about different spiral staircases in old abandoned buildings.  These images all bring awareness of the beauty of the staircases. The photographer talks about himself and how he became so interested in shooting architecture. This is my favorite image because I love the patterns in the staircase, and it seems like the spiral never ends. It gives off a mood of something funny and silly, yet very neat for some reason. I like the detailing on the railing too, and I think it makes the photo very unique. The rules of photography shown in this image are lines and rule of thirds. This shows rule of thirds because the spiral is directed towards the right. The lines on the staircases are leading to the center of the spiral, so it shows leading lines. The photographer of this image of a staircase is Christian Ritcher.

What Makes A Killer Timelaspse

This website is about how this photographer captures these very interesting time lapses in Rio, Brazil.  First, he searched up the most interesting things to capture, and went to capture them. His time lapses have a lot of still motion in them, which makes the time lapses so beautiful. In the video, I saw many different time lapses in Brazil. It showed steam rolling off of waterfalls, cars driving down a busy street, the tides going up and down on beaches. I also saw lifts carrying passengers back and forth, and the sun rising in the morning. All of the tie lapses were over a very long period of time. The videographer of the video is Joe Capra. Joe Capra shoots a lot of nature photography, and cities in the night time a lot. He also shoots things from a very unique perspective. There is a story about the video, and it talks about what led Joe Capra to making the video of time lapses in Brazil. It also says how he selected the interesting and most beautiful places, and captu...

The oldest Living Things inThe World

Image
This website is about things that have been around for many years, and formed over many years. It includes all nature from oceans to forests. The oldest living things in the world were captured over around 10 years, and it took many researchers and biologists to study this topic. This is my favorite image from the website because the different hues of blue create a chilling mood  for the viewer to feel when looking at this image. Also, the point of view from the image is close to the ocean surface, which I think makes the image more appealing.  The rules of photography shown in this image are balance. This shows balance because of the outline of the rocks and glaciers create shapes along its edges. Also, the image is avoiding mergers because the rocks and water take up the entire frame, so nothing extra is invading the image. The photographer of this image is Rachel Sussman.

7 Tips to shooting Great Portrait photographs

Image
The link is about what makes a portrait stand out and be very unique. Bringing the model outside of their comfort zone is very important and can help the image. Experimenting with the model and camera is important, so it is perfectly fine to break the rules of photography in order to get the perfect picture. The subject should not be limited to a certain pose or position, and choices should vary. This is my favorite image from the site because this photo is very unique. The subject is looking off camera, which is very appealing, and the image is very balanced overall with the black and white filter. Also, the berry on the mans nose is a good focus point. This photo shows simplicity and background rules of photography. This is simplicity because there is only one subject in the photo, which is the man. The background is blurred and solid, so the subject stands out even more. This website does not provide the photographers identity.
