Fashion Photography

1) The models face was changed in many ways including:
-made her lips bigger
-made her eyes bigger
-made her neck thinner and longer
-raised her eyebrows
- made her forehead smaller

2) The models body and face was changed in many ways such as:
-making her legs longer
-making her stomach thinner
-changing the tone of her skin to a lighter shade
-making her butt smaller
- making her nose thinner
-widened her eyes
-making her shoulder lower
- many more

3) In the second video, they manipulated the pizza in photoshop by:
- making the cheese look like skin
-turning pepperoni into a bikini
-altering the shape
-adding eyes and a face
- making the "body" slimmer to look skinnier
The original photo was a piece of pizza, and it then turned into a model who looked completely normal.

4) It is not ethical to alter a persons image this much. It is ridiculous how much a persons appearance changes before and after photoshop. From an  audience's point of view, it makes me not trust advertisements and I feel like I am being lied to from clothing stores, advertisements, and other brands.

5) It might be more ethically wrong to manipulate photos like this whenever it is conceiving a customer about a certain product or service. For example, if they said something removed wrinkles and the picture was of a lady without wrinkles, a customer would think it works. In reality, they might have just blurred all the wrinkles out, which is technically lying to a customer.

7) In photojournalism, people take pictures, and really focus on the perfect elements of the photo. You photoshop by changing the lighting, exposure, and cropping the image to make it more appealing to the eye. In fashion photography, it is more about the subjects looking appealing to viewers, and not much else. People photoshop fashion photography by changing the person to make them look more appealing by changing facial features, sizes of things, and many more. This will make someone who looks okay in an image to then look "prettier" for wherever their picture may be.

8) In photojournalism, the main goal of taking an image is to get the right elements in order to make the image look like as if the viewer had seen it in real life. This means not much is photoshopped or even altered because you already should have made most adjustments while taking the picture. In fashion photography, photoshopping is what makes the photo look so good. The image is being altered in order to make something look more appealing by making the person look better.

9) I think you showed us these videos so we could get a better understanding of how much photoshop can affect a photo and change its appearance from real life to what shows up in public. It also shows us how fashion photography is mainly based on creating the ideal model, no matter what they looked like before the photo.

10) I do not think men are in these videos because I do not think that an "ideal body image" or face is really important for them. Girls are more conscious about these things and "we have to look good" just because we are female and feel like we constantly need to please everyone, from physical features to personality. Men are not as worried about how they look because it is a lot less complicated for them, and I feel like they just don't have to try as hard.
