American Soldier

1) The most powerful image I saw was the one where Fisher is saying goodbye to his parents and friends, because the tear in his eyes show depth and emotion in the image 2) The images work together by being show as a sequence of events. The photos are in order, and they show big events that happened in his life. As you follow through the pictures, you progress more into his life story. 3) The captions enhance the photographs because they give background information of what happened before the photo was taken. They also show what is clearly going on, and what feelings were felt behind it, which is something you can't see by just looking at the photo. 4) Ian Fisher was just a normal high school student, who was always known for standing up for other people and getting in fights. In his last year of high school, Ian decides to join the army, and goes to basic training. As he struggles with finding himself, and keeping close relationships back home, Ian works his hardest in provin

Senior citizen, Freddie Kruger dresses up at Friday night Bingo to share his passion for the game. Freddie showed up  ready to play at the bingo spot with a smile on his face, and a great attitude that  blocked out the haters all night.  Carl Snooser, might be losing sleep after his long day, but he also seems to be losing his dentures! Carl spent the whole day at the mall searching for the perfect toothbrush, but he doesn't need one anymore. Donald has been preparing for this race for three days, with Hilary preparing for a whopping year!

Abandoned Theme Parks

1) I would like to go to Spreepark in Berlin Germany and take pictures there. I want to go there because the atmosphere there seems very spooky and dramatic. The image that I first saw of it was the most menacing photo out of all of the other ones, which automatically caught my eye. Also, swans seem to be a theme throughout the park, which gives many opportunities for unique photos. Tall trees fill out the scenery in the park which shade the amount of light coming into the photo, which makes the mood darker. The ferris wheel seems like the most fun subject to shoot because the scenery is beautiful, yet dark. There is also water there where boats would go there, and it pristine and clear. This would be great to shoot because of all the different elements and photo opportunities the park would give you, and it is in a foreign place. Five places that I think would be very cool to document and take photos of: 1) haunted hotel 2) shipwreck 3) abandoned town 4) graffiti park 5) ol

Mural Project Preview

1) Three ideas that my team could choose for this project could be nature, colors, or something themed with Halloween as a theme. These themes are not that broad, but not so specific to where the objects you shoot are very limited. 2) If we are shooting in manual, three things to focus on when shooting are the light exposure of the image, the aperture, and the shutter speed for certain objects to get a still shot. Also, you need to focus on the grain of the image, which is ISO. 3) One way to present this online would be to create a "prezi" which is a website that creates ver unique presentations. Without being as creative, we could do a plain powerpoint on our computers, but that might be a little too simple.

Africa

Image
Africa 1) I read about a man who spent months in Africa on its flat plains capturing animals in their peaceful state of mind. The photos are very interesting because the rules of photography are shown very uniquely. Nick got very close to some animals in order to capture these images, which is really cool. Also, each picture is in a black and white tone, which makes the image more dramatic and moving in my opinion. While he sat these animals, he also learned more about them as he observed them for such a long period of time. 2) 3) This photo is of a mother lion, and its child, in the plains of Africa. The background is blurred and the two lions are the main subject. The cub is snuggling between its mothers arms and is nestled underneath its neck. I chose this photo because not only is there just a great picture, but there is more meaning to it than others. The affection on the cubs face is heartwarming, and the way the two are embraced is very pleasing to eye. Also, the im

Warmup

1. As I worked through these pictures, I felt suspense of what the next photo might be. As I progressed, I became more sad because the wife was getting worse, and these images were showing that clearly. You can even tell how she physically changed throughout the pictures, and that showed her wellness getting worse. I felt very sympathetic and sad for the husband and the wife because of what they were experiencing over the years, 2. When the photographer said "These photos do not define us, but they are us," he meant how the pictures only simply show what they were going through from a bystanders point of view. Now, I understand that because the photo did not show feelings or anything deeper than what they are on the outside, which is a totally different summary than their inside. 3. I think I could shoot photos in this situation because it would be very important to capture big moments over the years through the art of photography, and I could always look back at them to

Black and White Photographers Part 3

Image
 1) When I first discovered Helen Levitt, her photos intrigued me. First, the photos were of everyday people on the streets in New York City, and they were all candids. Also, each photo was different in the best way, and had its own story behind it. People in New York city spent a lot of time outside, so the photography opportunities for Helen were great around her time. I chose these two photos because they stood out to me the most. The first photo shows two people sitting on a subway in New York City. The look on the subjects faces are very deep as they stare into each others eyes. The two people are holding hands, which indicates that they are in love, which makes the story behind the photo even greater. I chose the second photo because it was also a candid of children playing in the streets of New York. A long time ago, children had to come up with their own games and entertainment in the summer. As the children play, it gives off a feeling of youth and happiness, which is what dre
